Mokowe is a small town located on the Kenyan mainland across from Lamu Island, one of Kenya’s most popular tourist destinations. Travellers who cannot afford to fly to Lamu will need to take a bus from Mombasa to Mokowe, from where it is possible to take a ferry or speedboat to the island.
