About Kaya Kinondo
Kaya Kinondo is a sacred forest revered by the Digo people close to Diani Beach, Kenya. The forest is open to visitors, where a guide will point to various trees used in traditional medicine, such as a tree known to cure acne, a palm tree, Liana swings and fig trees. Visitors are expected to remove any headgear and wear a black kaniki or sarong. Most of the trees are about 600 years old, and visitors cannot cut or break off any leaves from the forest.
