Deception Pan

Deception Pan is the most famous desert pan in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa, known for the mirage-type illusion it creates at certain times of the day. The pan is filled with water during the rainy reason, and during the dry season, all that is left is reddish cracked mud. In the evening, visitors can hear the beautiful song of bullfrogs which come out of the mud to feed and mate.
