Botswana is positioned in the tropics, but extreme temperatures and climatic conditions have been known to occur in both summer and winter. Generally winters bring warm, sunny days with mostly clears skies and chilly to cold nights. Summers are wet and humid, with daytime temperatures frequently reaching 40°C or higher.
