Elephant Sanctuary Elephant Keeper for a Day

The Elephant Sanctuary in Hazyview has been operating since 1999 and offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience a day with the resident elephant herd. This full day programme begins at 07h30 and includes being fully involved with the elephant caretakers as they clean the elephants, prepare the food, participate in the 'trunk in hand' elephant walks and general interaction and care of the herd.

The activity concludes at about 17h00 and includes morning and afternoon tea and coffee, a finger lunch, bottled water, a personal guide, an educational session and a certificate of participation. Children as young as 8 years old may participate with a parent present.
