Pfunda Tea Tour

The Pfunda Tea Tour, offered by the Pfunda Tourism Cooperative in Rubavu, Rwanda, provides a unique opportunity to experience the entire tea production process. The tour begins at the cooperative office, where a guide explains the history and background of tea production in Rwanda. Guests then travel to the tea plantations on the back of a truck, where they receive aprons, gloves, and picking baskets. Participants learn about the growth and lifecycle of tea bushes and get hands-on experience picking tea leaves. The tour continues at the Pfunda Tea Factory, where guests see how fresh leaves are dried, fermented, and packaged into drinkable tea. The tour concludes with a tasting session, allowing guests to sample different types of tea.
