Hohenstein Lodge Panorama Trail

Hohenstein Lodge offers several hiking trails in the surrounding area. Hikers can choose to be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who is able to provide detailed information with regards to the Fauna and Flora, and point out game that moves freely in this vast area.

The Panorama Trail is one of the longer trails and offers stunning views of the surrounding areas. From the lodge terrace, the route leads along the dry riverbed in a northerly direction to the granite boulders. Spectacular vistas vary from views across to the Hohenstein and over vast plains where visitors may spot springbok or other antelope. The diverse landscape is evident from big trees growing in the riverbeds to rocky plains with thorny bushes growing amongst soft flowers. The average duration of this hike is two to three hours.
