Hohenstein Lodge Damara Trail

Hohenstein Lodge offers several hiking trails in the surrounding area. Hikers can choose to be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who is able to provide detailed information with regards to the Fauna and Flora, and point out game that moves freely in this vast area.

The Damara Trail is the shortest and commences from the terrace of the main building. There is a signposted route for hikers to follow along the dry riverbed to a rocky outcrop. After this, the trail offers two options; the first option takes hikers up to two granite boulders, offering rock climbing possibilities as well as a fantastic panoramic view. The second option takes hikers into the valley past the old Damara dwellings. Hikes take an average of one to two hours.
