About Kalovia Campsite
Kalovia is situated outside the South Luangwa National Park and overlooks the grassy banks of an old course of the Luangwa River which holds pools of water throughout the year. This attracts an abundance of wildlife including antelope such as Puku and Impala. Kalovia nestles below majestic Ebony and Sausage trees, providing ample shade. A game viewing track runs from the campsite to the perennial Luangwa River, travelling north along the Luangwa to the Changwa Channel, famous for one of the largest hippo populations in Africa.
The campsite comes equipped with a flush toilet, wash basin and shower. All are fed from a drum of water which is filled by hand. There are two friendly caretakers on site to provide hot showers upon request.
