About Mwiba Plains, Auberge Safari
When the rains arrive in the southern Serengeti, the short-grass plains of the exclusive-use Greater Mwiba Protected Wildlife Area turn emerald and the landscape comes alive as the herds of the Great Migration arrive at their ancient calving grounds. Positioned at the heart of it all is Mwiba Plains.
The camp faces east over the grassland to greet the rising sun. The ten tented rooms and a family unit are designed as comfort-led counterpoints to hours spent wandering the wilderness, while private lounges with cozy couches and lantern-lit tables set for gourmet spreads become places for sharing the day’s stories.
Your private guide and vehicle are yours for the whole day, and with no other operators in the area, every sighting is yours alone. You can drive out to the far edges of the plains, stop for a picnic lunch amid the grass, and pour a sundowner as the light fades. Night drives explore the landscape after dark, and a nearby Datoga village welcomes visitors with song and dance.

Tented Rooms
Mwiba Plains has 8 en suite tented rooms, each with an indoor shower, flushing toilet and double vanity. All tents can be set up as twin/king and can accommodate an extra bed.
Family Tent
Songa Migrational Camp has 1 spacious family tent with 2 en-suite rooms and a shared lounge. Each of the two bedrooms can be set up as twin/king and can accommodate an extra bed (stretcher bed). Each tented room features an en-suite with an indoor shower and a double vanity.
Dining & Cuisine
Breakfast
Enjoy a continental-style spread of fresh fruits, cereals, homemade yogurt, and freshly baked pastries. A selection of hot breakfasts are also on offer.
Lunch and dinner
Lunch and dinner are a selection of 'family-style' sharing plates for the table.

Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or sundowners in the camp's al fresco dining areas (weather dependent).
Picnics
Picnic breakfasts or lunches can be packed in hampers for full-day activities.
