About Mahali Maalum Barefoot Lodge
Mahali Maalum Barefoot Lodge is located on the Northern Tanzania coast, in the middle of the African continent. Remote, tranquil and relaxing, where the sun, the white beach, the soft breeze and amazing views are part of the experience. A place to relax, breathe and merge with nature in peaceful privacy.
Mahali Maalum is a sustainable accommodation experience. The site uses solar energy and natural water sources. The goal is to create as little environmental impact as possible. The three bush bandas and three beach bungalows were designed to blend in with the surrounding nature at the lodge and are built from natural materials such as coconut leaves, kumba, burlap and bark – ecologically friendly and run-on green standards. Sustainable green practices are encouraged - using cloth bags, reducing single use plastic, recycling, eating locally grown food, and using your trip to learn about the culture and local flora and fauna of Tanzania.
The restaurant and communal deck areas are located right at the ocean’s edge - come and get spoiled with healthy, hearty food, snacks and cold drinks.
Kayak, swim, read a good book, play games on the beach or in the lounge area, walk on the beach, do yoga on the deck, or simply doing nothing at all
