Nyamiruba Camp

The Nyamiruba Camp is situated in the heart of the former Selous Game Reserve (now renamed Nyerere National Park after Tanzania’s first elected president). This gorgeous, remote site is located on a very private lake, at the fringes of the Rufiji River floodplain. It has been the spot for a fabulous Bush Rover suites experience in recent years and will now become a permanent tented camp. The new camp is intimate and exclusive, with a maximum of four rooms and a cosy dining mess tent. It is all about the location, sitting on the shores of Lake Nyamiruba, in permanent view of hippos, crocs and stunning birdlife. Just sit on your terrace and watch what comes down to the lakeside to drink. The site offers the very best in game drives, foot safaris and boat safaris, a combination which is not available in any of Tanzania’s other major parks.

Nyerere National Park is Africa’s largest and is completely off the beaten track, away from the crowds, a place where it is still possible to be out all day and barely see another human soul. Priceless!
