About Marula Lodge

Marula Lodge, a Guesthouse with a large garden that invites you to relax and enjoy, is situated in the picturesque town of Swellendam. The Guesthouse is within walking distance of various fine restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine.

We offer comfortable accommodation, a sparkling saltwater pool with stunning mountain views and serve a sumptuous breakfast on the garden terrace.

Swellendam offers many activities and excursions such as beautiful mountain trails in Marloth Nature Reserve, hiking trails and game viewing in Bontebok National Park, Golf course, mountain bike tails, Drostdy Museum and many more.

We will gladly help to organise your tour and day trips, which may include wine tasting at Robertson Wine Valley, a boat trip on the Breede River with picnic on the boat, a day trip to De Hoop Nature Reserve and/or to Cape Agulhas, the most southern point of Africa.

Marula Standard
This comfortable decorated room offers a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom. This room is situated in the main building nearby the swimming pool and garden. This room contains coffee/tea, heater, a desk, and other amenities.
Marula Garden
This quiet twin/king-size room has an en-suite bathroom, with direct access to the big garden and the pool area from the private patio. This room contains coffee/tea, a desk, and more. Marula Garden is separate from the main building.
Marula Family
This family room is equipped with 1 double bed and 2 single beds and features an en-suite bathroom. This room has direct access to the pool and garden, and an outside seating area. Perfect for 3 to 4 people (including a kid 6 years & older).
Marula Classic
This comfortable room is furnished with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom. This room is situated in the main building nearby the swimming pool and garden. The room contains a ceiling fan, a desk, a heater, a safe, and other amenities.
