Nestled at the foothills of the Langeberg Mountains, Gaikou Lodge is surrounded by spectacular mountainscapes, a river and forest. A peaceful sanctuary situated just minutes off the N2, within walking distance to Swellendam and just a 2-hour drive from Cape Town.

Gaikou Lodge offers bed & breakfast accommodation, event and conference facilities on a 16 ha privately owned property. Situated within the Marloth Nature Reserve our grounds are the perfect playground for young and old.

The luxury suites, with 2 single beds are all open plan with high ceilings, allowing for ultimate comfort in an air-conditioned/heated environment. The beds are dressed in the finest linens and the oval baths spell supreme indulgence.
Family Villa
The Family Villa consists of a spacious lounge area and two seperate bedrooms, one with a King Size bed and the other with 2 single beds; both bedrooms are en-suite.The rooms are all open plan with high ceilings in an air-condition/heated environment.
Luxury Family Villa
Our Family Villas have 2 spacious en-suite bedrooms flanked by a central open plan lounge area. The two bedrooms are identical in layout, one with a king-size bed and the second twin three-quarter beds. The villas have ample cupboard and storage space. Large picture frame windows and French doors leading onto a covered veranda spoil guests to picturesque mountain views and harmonious sounds of a nearby river stream and abundance of bird-life. The indoor-outdoor layout gives a sense of unity with nature, creating a calm space for reflection and balance. A calming color palette, crisp linens, white towels a large bathtub entice guests to enjoy a luxurious bath by candlelight, savoring the tranquillity of their surroundings. All units have secure parking and are fitted with air-conditioning/heating, complimentary Wi-fi, a private safe, flatscreen TV and satellite TV.

Dining & Cuisine

Gaikou Lodge Restaurant and Function Venue
The restaurant with its sweeping views of the gardens, forest and mountains serves breakfast daily from 08:00 - 09:30. Guests can enjoy a scrumptious breakfast buffet with a wide choice of fruits, cold meats and pastries before a warm main breakfast is served. Special arrangements can be made for Dinner or Picnic Baskets. The Gaikou Restaurant the ideal function venue for weddings and special celebratory events. The venue can comfortably seat and cater for 30 guests. Functions of 30 - 200 guests can be accommodated with ease, as the flow of our social spaces offer a variety of distinctive indoor and outdoor entertainment options, leaving you with a blank canvas to plan a once-in-a-lifetime event reflecting your unique style. Large sliding doors link our function venue to a spacious pool entertainment area and expansive sprawling lawns. Your function floor plan could incorporate the sparkling pool area or flow out onto lawns which are ideal for Marquees, stretch tents, dance floors and additional decking.
