About Braeside Guest House

This Guesthouse has now been rated "Superior" by the AA and has received a 4 Star **** TGSA rating. Under new ownership as from the 1st April 2017, the Guesthouse has been totally refurbished in a traditional antique style to flow with the Edwardian Heritage House. The house built in 1901 has a lot of charm and character, which has been restored to its original splendour. The Guesthouse also features true South African character, including paintings from local artist depicting the beautiful South African Landscapes.

We are situated in a very peaceful and safe area of the picturesque town of Swellendam, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Swellendam

The majestic house with its large wrap-around stoop is the ideal place to come and relax after a busy day exploring the wonderful Overberg region. Whether relaxing on the stoop with its comfortable sofa's or sitting under one of the large trees in the beautiful garden, peace and tranquillity is what you will experience at this Guest House.

Swellendam is the ideal venue to explore the entire region, whether it is trips to the coast or the wine lands, everything is close by.

Elizabeth Twin Room
Original wooden flooring and is furnished with original era antiques. The Classic Elizabeth room comes with 2 Three Quarter beds. Cooling & heating air-conditioning and an en suite bathroom with Shower.
Kalahari Double Room
Smaller room with queen bed, traditional reed ceiling and wood flooring, decorated with African artifacts. Opens onto pool area. En-suite bathroom with shower. Air-conditioned.
