The Elephant House is an exclusive thatched lodge set in the sun-drenched Sundays River valley, minutes away from the Addo Elephant Park. After a hot day in the bush, return for a refreshing dip in one of two pools, or retreat to one of the comfy couches on the deep verandahs. Luxurious, spacious bedrooms, stylishly decorated with Moorish, African and Colonial influences, open onto courtyards or verandahs. and the generous Stable Cottages are ideal for families. Sip a sundowner before a sumptuous candlelit dinner, prepared with flair and personal attention. Game drives in an open Landcruiser with the Elephant House ranger to Addo Elephant Park and into the Sundays River valley. Schotia and Elephant Back Safaris arranged. "From the moment we arrived, gracious hospitality and professional service overwhelmed our stay - and definitely the beautiful room and environment!! The dinner and breakfast cuisine were of the highest standard and presentation, with again well-trained and elegant staff - thank you for the champagne treat specially for our 39th anniversary!! Paterson''s cultural group provided warmth and energy with their dancing and interesting comments / historical references - this was quite a unique surprise!! It was a ''night out'' to remember, and we will definitely consider elephant house again as an option for future visits, and will definitely market your place to our friends / connections."

"Our stay at the Elephant House was fantastic. The staff there, particularly Christelle, were very helpful. Unexpectedly, they serve dinner every night and the food was fanastic. Christelle also helped us organise a jeep safari on a nearby private game reserve, which was lots of fun. All in all, a wonderful place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone."
