About AMBERHALL Guesthouse
Located in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, Amberhall Guesthouse offers luxury accommodation in a lush garden setting. The alley of Liquid Amber trees that line the entrance to the homestead served as inspiration for the naming of this gorgeous, owner-run establishment.
The original homestead dates back to 1970 and was built by esteemed Italian builder Umberto Beccaro. Following an extensive renovation in 2017, it now boasts eight elegant rooms. Each of the rooms are simple yet stylish and offer all the comforts of home, including extra-length beds, top quality bedding and linen, DStv, air-conditioning and a mini fridge.
The communal lounge is the ideal place to relax and unwind in front of the TV or with a good book from the library, while the cosy fireplace creates a welcoming and toasty place for those winter days. The indigenous gardens are waiting to be explored on a walk, while the braai area can be made use of at any time, which is particularly useful during the summer.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast each morning before heading out to discover the many nearby attractions, such as Maropeng (Cradle of Humankind and the Sterkfontein Caves), Soweto, Montecasino, Gold Reef City and more. Owners Elisabeth and Alex would be glad to recommend day trips and provide information about the many interesting sights in and around Gauteng.
