About Explorers Lions Rock Rapids Camp
Lions Rock Rapids is situated on the banks of the iconic Sabie River, a brief 10 minute drive from the nearby town of Hazyview in Mpumalanga – approximate 4,5hrs drive from Johannesburg.
We offer 7 Self-catering Lodge suites and 15 Luxury air-conditioned tents. This offers guests a central base from which to explore this beautiful destination at leisure. Whilst spending time at the camp, guests are encouraged to enjoy the prolific birdlife where they are welcome to partake in a brief hike on the grounds, or simply sit with a chilled drink on the banks of the Sabie River, taking in all that nature has to offer.
Nearby attractions / activities can include day trips into the Kruger National Park - Phabeni gate being the closest at an approximate 20 minute drive from the camp, restaurants in and around Hazyview, quad biking, river rafting, hot air ballooning, Cultural Village, Panorama Route, and much more.
