About Bo La Motte Farm Cottages

At the foot of the Middagkrans mountain and only a ten-minute walk from the beautiful village of Franschhoek, lies Bo La Motte Farm, one of the nine historic Huguenot wine farms settled in 1672. The farm offers beautifully furnished, self-catering cottages, each in its own unique setting. An ideal location to make a base from which to travel and see the delights of the immediate area and Western Cape. When you've finished driving, it offers the space to relax and unwind. A day spent on the farm can involve a stroll into the village or enjoy a picnic around the dams, taking in the breathtaking scenery offered by the surrounding mountains. Franschhoek Valley also offers a number of activities such as horse riding, paragliding, helicopter trips and mountain biking or for a more relaxing theme there is fly-fishing, walking trails, wine tasting and health spas.

Accommodation Options

Pump House
One bedroom apartment attached to the main farmhouse with private entrance and courtyard. There is a fully equipped kitchen, large/lounge dining area with log burner, bedroom with a queen bed and separate bathroom with both bath and shower facilities.
Goose Cottage
Goose is a two bedroom two bathroom cottage set amongst the ancient oaks at the bottom of the farm. It has a large kitchen, lounge dining area opening onto the verandah where you can sit and relax or barbecue whilst taking in the stunning scenery.
Oak Cottage
Oak Cottage was the original stable. There is a fully equipped kitchen and large lounge dining area opening onto front and back verandahs. The bedroom has a large extra length king size bed and the bathroom has both bath and shower facilities.
Milkwood Cottage
Set amongst the vines in the middle of the farm, Milkwood Cottage has a large lounge dining area with a full kitchen which opens onto it's private verandah and gardens where you can sit, relax and take in the views of the stunning surrounding mountains.
Pear Tree Cottage
Set in the top corner of the farm, Pear Tree over looks the main irrigation dam. The fully equipped kitchen is open plan to the dining and lounge area and opens onto a lovely covered verandah where you can sit and barbecue and take in the stunning views.
Owl Cottage
This three bedroom two bathroom cottage was the original Oude-Jong house of the farm. With a large dining and lounge area and separate kitchen both opening onto the covered verandah where you can sit in privacy and enjoy the view of the majestic mountains
The Lake House
The Lake House is a modern 3 bedroom house overlooking the lake on the farm. It also has wonderful views of the Middagkrans mountains and surrounding vineyards. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, spacious open plan kitchen living are and covered veranda
