About Grootbos Private Nature Reserve Forest Lodge
Nestled in an ancient Milkwood forest in the peaceful Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, surrounded by rolling hills of fynbos and majestic mountains, The Forest Lodge features 16 freestanding luxury suites beneath an ancient forest canopy. Each of the suites is stylishly furnished with canopy beds, spacious en-suite bathrooms, separate lounges with cosy fireplaces and private wooden decks with spectacular panoramic views. The lodge features a variety of elegant dining venues, a bar, lounge, curio shop and conference centre. Spacious wooden decks and an infinity pool beckon you to relax and unwind. Each suite features a spacious bedroom with en-suite bathroom with double washbasins, double shower and bath, separate lounge with tea & coffee making facilities and a separate bathroom, minibar, cosy fireplace, flatscreen TV and DVD player for in-room entertainment. The spacious suites open out onto a private deck with outside showers overlooking Walker Bay. Two of the 16 Suites do have a private plunge pool on the deck (no additional costs).

LODGE - STANFORD
"Only two hours from Cape Town and 30 minutes from Hermanus on the way to the world-renowned Garden Route, Grootbos is perfectly situated between the classic attractions of the Cape and is most certainly a highlight on any itinerary. Both the Garden and Forest Lodges offer panoramic views and every suite offers complete privacy. Garden Lodge lies in an indigenous garden with stone walls and a warm African ambience. Each suite is nestled between the fynbos with a private sundeck to soak up the tranquillity and view. Forest Lodge is an architectural masterpiece with a chic design that perfectly accentuates the draping branches of the surrounding milkwood forest. Relaxation is easy with a light-filled lounge, spacious bathroom, airy bedroom and large outside deck with mesmerising views over the ever-changing ocean and African sky. Creative gourmet cuisine, using home-grown organic vegetables and the freshest local produce, is complemented by fine local wines. Dedicated conservationists accompany guests daily on awe-inspiring excursions to explore the flora, fauna, bird and marine life of the area by foot, boat, horseback or in an open 4x4 vehicle.
