About Excelsior Manor Guest House

The farmhouse on Excelsior Wine Estate, with the characteristic elegance of the Victorian era and embellished with impressive chimneys and Cape Dutch gables, reflects the essence of the haute couture and affluence of the Ostrich Feather boom of the early 1900s.

Restored under the guidance of fourth generation owners Freddie and Kathy de Wet, Excelsior Manor Guesthouse consists of nine luxurious country suites each named after famous thoroughbreds and hackneys previously bred on Excelsior Estate. All rooms incorporate the style and graciousness of yesteryear with the comfort and convenience of modern living.

Excelsior Wine Walks will amble through vineyards and orchards, but the route also goes through hilly terrain where natural veld can he seen. For those who are interested our 'fynbos' is known as the Robertson succulent Karoo and in Spring we have the most beautiful flowers. An experienced tour guide will explain more on the ecology of the area.

Enjoy hiking with a difference. All you carry is a light day-pack, walk at an easy pace and enjoy the scenery as you discover hidden treasures.

Octavius is our largest room, consisting of a super king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower and slipper bath. It leads out onto a veranda that looks over the front garden.
Standard Luxury Room
Evanthuis and Gondolier are standard luxury rooms equipped with a Super King size bed or twin beds, and have en-suite bathrooms with shower and slipper bath.
Standard Luxury Room 2
Allure and Dancing Duel are both standard luxury rooms with King or Twin bed configuration. They have en-suite bathrooms with showers and lead out onto the back terrace which offers stunning views over the vineyards.Allure is our wheelchair friendly room.
Classic Room
Agricola and Hussein are classic rooms with a Super King or twin bed configuration. They have en-suite bathrooms with showers, and have beautiful views over the front garden.With a balcony
Classic Room 2
San Louis is a classic room with a Queen bed configuration. It has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, as well as a small sunny lounge that overlooks the beautiful garden.With a balcony

"Set amidst the vineyards of the Robertson Wine Valley on a 300-hectare wine and citrus farm, Excelsior Manor Guesthouse offers accommodation in a lovingly restored Cape Dutch Revival Manor. There are nine classically decorated, comfortable en-suite bedrooms, one offering facilities for the disabled. Summer days can be spent beside the deep blue swimming pool situated on an elevated, secluded wooden deck from which you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the vineyards and the Langeberg mountains beyond. Relax in the garden under the shady trees, and explore the fragrant rose labyrinth. The more adventurous can explore the farm on foot, mountain bike or golf cart.
