About Gamsberg Ranch House
The Groot Gamsberg Ranch is in the Badlands Wildlife Sanctuary, 21,000 acres (8,335 hectares), of splendid mountain wilderness. All five rooms at the Ranch House are en-suite with a toilet and shower. Your meals will be shared with the family in the family dining room or on the veranda (stoep) in warm weather.
The sanctuary is home to springbok, red hartebeest, ostrich, warthog, black wildebeest and other species. Migrating on and off the ranch, through the mountains, are klipspringer, kudu, mountain zebra and oryx (gemsbok) and small game such as meerkats, mongeese, bat eared foxes, ardvaarks and maybe even a pangolin! In addition you are likely to see several varieties of game birds, other species of birds. There are unique and unusual species of flora and plants – aloes, grasses, the resurrection bush, cyphostemmas, and acacias.
