About The Majlis Resort
The Majlis Hotel is a privately-owned 25 room boutique hotel with superb seafront views over the Ras Kitau bay and Shela village. Guests enjoy an idyllic setting where they can relax and make the most of the Lamu Archipelago's unaffected charm and extensive recreational activities. Designed and built to reflect Lamu’s heritage tradition, a subtle fusion of African, Indian, Asian, Arab and Portuguese influences, the hotel combines 25 superbly appointed luxury suites built with Western comforts and local tradition. The Royal suite is an apartment of 260 square meters located on the first floor of the historic Majlis main villa. The Royal suite is composed of a living room, one big veranda and two junior suites, each with an ensuite bathroom. Tastefully designed and decorated with tailored fittings, all rooms evoke the East African heritage with doors and furniture hand-carved according to the local Lamu tradition.
Suites boast a large bedroom area with a king-size bed draped with highest-quality linen bedding and roll-down netting, a generous en-suite bathroom, electric fans, minibar and a safe. Each room is also fitted with air conditioning to guarantee a peaceful night. Wireless internet access is available.
Junior suite

The deluxe room on the first floor offers amazing seaview of the Ras Kitau bay on Manda Island and the channel across the channel to Shela village on Lamu Island.
