The Sleeping Warrior Camp

We are just over 2 hour?s drive from Nairobi, on 20,000 hectares of private conservancy, near Lake Elementeita, one of the Rift Valley?s most beautiful soda ash lakes. The Camp offers home-cooked cuisine, guided walks, day and night game drives, lakeshore exploration, balloon safaris, bush lunches, evening sundowners amid the volcanoes... or just a simple getaway.

Ecologically-conceived, the Sleeping Warrior Camp consists of four, widely-spaced, and traditionally-presented safari tents. Linked by winding lava-stone paths, each tent has a locally-thatched roof, a private bathroom, which is partially open to the wilderness, and its own private veranda.

Each tent is locally-made and eco-friendly. All have private or ensuite bathroom facilities with flush toilets, sinks and hot showers. Electricity is solar-powered. The comfortable beds are provided with continental quilts and fine-quality linen. Each tent has its own private furnished terrace. We also offer a secluded ?getaway? situated on a lava outcrop, and a room within the main house.

Ututu House has a central dining room and lounge with an external natural stone terrace with magnificent views. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the dining room ? home-cooked and to the highest quality. Sundowners are traditionally taken on one of the surrounding volcanic hills, with campfire and home-cooked ?bitings?.
