About Okavango Barbel Run Campsite
The Okavango Barbel Run Fishing Safari is a classic mobile tiger fishing safari camp run and operated by master guides. Hosting 6 groups a year during the famous Okavango Barbel Run, this is a wonderful fishing safari experience. The "Barbel" run occurs when the waters of the Okavango drop and the barbel - or sharptooth catfish - congregate in their thousands to flush and feed on the baitfish. However, our primary interest is not the barbel at all but rather, the tiger fish which follow the melee and are often whipped into a feeding frenzy with all the action and bait fish on offer.
