Welcome to Domboshawa
Conveniently located just 27 kilometres north of Harare, Domboshava is an enormous rock hill, rising out of the central plateau highveld on the outskirts of Zimbabwe’s Domboshava village. This impressive granite hill is a National Monument of Zimbabwe and is home to numerous well-preserved cave paintings dating back almost 6000 years. There are several rock formations at the top of the hill that have been formed by millennia of natural erosion. One balancing rock formation has received the epithet “the whale”, due to its distinctive whale-like shape. Travellers can follow various routes up the steep granite hill, where they can enjoy panoramic views of the exquisite Zimbabwean skyline.
