Umfurudzi Safari Area

Located in Mashonaland East, in Zimbabwe, the Umfurudzi Safari Area is a vast wildlife reserve covering an area of 76 000 hectares. This newly rehabilitated protected area is characterised by numerous waterways which sustain an array of wildlife such as: elephant, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, leopard, hippo, Nile crocodile, kudu, eland and sable antelope, impala, pangolin and over 340 bird species. Visitors can enjoy excellent fishing in the magnificent Mazoe and Umfurudzi rivers, climb Mt. Chisinga, and enjoy camping in the wilderness on an adventurous multi-day trek. Other highlights include: San rock art, Iron Age monuments and day and night game drives.
