Cucumber topped with smoked snoek pate and lemon caviar.

Dullstroom trout wrapped in lettuce,
citrus segments, and lemon aioli and dill,
served with an avocado salsa.
~Palette Cleanser~
Prickly-pear and fresh-ginger sorbet
~Main Course~
A trio of meats: - peppered beef fillet
lamb cutlet
chicken breast stuffed with Peppadew
served with
African dumplings and a thyme and berry sauce
spinach and steamed root vegetables.
~Dessert~
Mini malva pudding
served with
a three-legged chocolate potjie filled with tropical fruit
accompanied by slices of milk tart
finished off with a berry compote.

South African Shiraz and Chardonnay wines

Guests will be entertained by Grammy Award winners the Soweto Gospel Choir (although JZ and his 3 wives will no doubt be doing some of their own song and dance routines before the night is through!)
* At R1,700 a bottle the decision to use imported champagne has caused some public disapproval - after all Graham Beck''s excellent Brut NV was good enough for Barack Obama.

The following Tshwane roads will be closed from 04h00 on Saturday 09 May (tomorrow) and remain so for the whole day.
- Soutpansberg Road, between Gordon and Hamilton streets
- Government Avenue
- Church Street, between Orient and Athlone streets
- Hamilton Street, between Soutpansberg Road and Edmond Street.
In addition, the following intersections with Government Avenue will also be closed:
- Blackwood
- Pine
- Beckett
- East
- Herbert
- Percy
- Eastwood
- Balmoral
- Dumbarton
- Nassau.
The following intersections with Church Street will also be closed:
- Athlone
- Orient
- Blackwood
- Pine
- Beckett
- East
- Lisdogan
- Balmoral
- Dumbarton.
The following intersections with Soutpansberg Road will be closed:

- Hamilton
- Union
- Viljoen

Hamilton Street will be closed at Belvedere and Edmond streets.

There will be public shuttle services operating from 04h00, from the showgrounds in Pretoria carrying people to and from the Union Buildings.

so what about residents in the area? I live in soutpansberg right in the middle of the closure. Will we get permits? Be interesting to try claim my constitutional and residential right to freedom of movement in the face of this, with arrogsnt metro police all over the show.
