Wear Black for the Rhino on Spring Day
South Africans have been called to don black instead of the usual festive flowery spring attire for tomorrow, 1 September 2011, in memory of the many, many rhino that have been killed by poachers in recent times.

People from both SA and other countries who feel they wish to help raise awareness about the scourge may all dress in black and put black ribbons on the right hand wing mirrors of their cars.

The rate at which these amazing animals are being slaughtered is appalling and despite the many arrests that have been made it seems the death toll steadily rises.

We all love spring but it''s hard to celebrate while the killing of our rhinos continues unabated.

If you wish to compromise, wear something bright and tie a black ribbon around your wrist or to your car.
