Dusk is a special time of day in Cape Town as the sun sinks low in the sky, glinting off the ocean – natures very own bedazzler - and the heat of the day eases. That time of day when people start to unwind, when thoughts turn to family time, to relaxation, fun and pleasure.
There is no better way to usher in the evening than on board the City Sightseeing Night Tour bus – one of the top things to do in Cape Town this summer.
Sit back on the top deck of the iconic, state of the art, red open top City Sightseeing bus and feel the breeze in your hair as the bus takes you past all the best attractions, as well as the festive Christmas lights in Adderley street over the Christmas season (a spectacular site for the entire family). The highlight of the Night Tour is the stop at Signal Hill when passengers hop-off to watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean and get the chance to enjoy a sundowner picnic – so remember to bring along your favourite treats.
The City Sightseeing Night Tour is the only one of its kind in South Africa and an experience not to be missed! This is the perfect outing for young and old alike – whether you are looking for a fun family excursion or a romantic evening for two you can’t go wrong with the Night Tour.

The red double decker buses can also be found in Johannesburg where City Sightseeing Joburg runs a fascinating Red City Tour that visits 12 exciting attractions (including the Roof of Africa at the Carlton Centre, the Apartheid Museum and Gold Reef City to name a few) in the CBD as well as a combo tour which includes a tour of Soweto. The Red City tour is changing the face of the inner city as people who experience the tour leave behind their old perceptions of Johannesburg and embrace a rejuvenated, fun CBD with its eclectic mix of cultures and heritage. There is easy, fast and safe access to the City Sightseeing bus via the Gautrain at Gautrain Park Station.
