The Power of One CAN Make a Difference.
It''s always great when someone proves that one person CAN make a difference - can BE the difference. One young woman is using her birthday to galvanise South Africans to clean up our act.

Michelle Atagana describes herself as "a PhD student. blogger, possible writer, who dreams in black and white. Hopeful documentary filmmaker...Daring to do the environmentally conscious thing and breaking new boundaries for hope in humanity...Wild and inspired but Ultimately sweetness itself!"

Of this project, Michelle says:

"My birthday is the 5th of June and it also happens to be World Environment Day.

This year I want to mark this day by doing something for the environment so I have asked my darling friends (and the general public) to come out for two hours on Saturday the 5th of June and clean up your respective cities.

All you have to do is pick a spot in your city and clean it up.

We have such a beautiful planet and we all live in such amazing cities yet we let it go ruin.

So please just for two hours help me make this 5th of June something special and worthwhile.

Please invite your friends to join us!

If you are unable to clean up you can still participate by making a donation to WWF.

If I can get 500 people to do it, I will donate R500 WWF''s Vote Earth Campaign."

If you''re going to take part, sign up on the Clean Up Your City Facebook page & invite all your friends and contacts to join in - why not inspire your kids'' schools or your own business to join in and clean up the neighbourhood?
