The Completion of Table Mountain
This awesome ''mockumentary'' by local creative media agency Refresh gives a thrill-a-minute reminder of how special Table Mountain is.

The 23 minute-long movie packs the punches as South African climber Jeremy Samson (assisted / hindered by Justin Hawkins) sets about trying to figure out a plan of action to complete Table Mountain by adding a peak to its iconic flat top.

In doing so he discusses how this plan would affect extreme sport enthusiasts who make use of the mountain for rock climbing, bouldering and base jumping, and those who would be affected by the change in wind patterns if the topography was dramatically altered - the kite surfers down on Cape Town''s beaches.

When I first heard about the film I didn’t really know what to expect – was this guy for real? – I dismissed that thought pretty quickly. Was it some belated April Fools Day joke? What was the point (peak?) of the whole concept?

What I got was insane action sequences, a rocking local soundtrack, hilarious conversations snippets and irate responses from members of the public who are horrified at the thought of anyone messing with Our Mountain.

Herewith the trailer....

Unfinished Business showcases Cape Town as an awesome destination for adrenalin-seekers, with Refresh living up to their name by creating this DVD and the associated online hype (see Facebook and Twitter for more) - something different and uniquely South African.

The whole product is slick, exciting and definitely something I’ll be convincing my friends and colleagues to get hold of.

Also saw it recently. It''s hilarious, the street scenes were incredible - did they really believe this ? A great showcase for our mountain and city, sending it off to the folk in Norway to show them what they are missing !
