I made use of this great special in February last summer when my siblings from around the globe were visiting with all their families. Even though I live in Cape Town myself, it had been many years since I''d made the trip to the top and my ten-year-old son had never been. I know, I know...it just seems like a lot of money in the current economic times, and a bit of a slog to get there - and you always think you''ll do it "another time..."
The special rate and the visiting hordes finally got me up there. And it was worth every cent. Despite the strong winds the revolving cable car felt quite secure and the views, of course, were breath-taking, with the Atlantic Seaboard, Robben Island and the endless oceans vying for attention.
Make the most of the opportunity to see the city from the best possible vantage point as another perfect Cape Town day ends.
Tips for the Top
- BYO bubbly up and enjoy sundowners from the Table top, watching the sun set over the beautiful Mother City.
- Take binoculars and of course your camera - with charged batteries
- It may be summer but a warm jacket is essential - that wind can get quite sharp once the sun sets.
