Shall We Dance at the Playhouse Opera Theatre
Long before the days of TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and other celebrity ballroom dance-offs was Shall We Dance. Now in its 18th year this glitzy Ballroom and Latin American dance extravaganza will once more enchant audiences in Durban.

If you are in Durban next week, you simply cannot miss your chance to see the incredible dance spectacular Shall We Dance.

With some the very best dancers from all over the region as well as featuring top award-winning performers, this night emphasizes the glitz and glamour that is Ballroom Dancing and Latin American Dancing and on the night you''ll even be wowed with some Indian Classical, Hip Hop, Modern, Ballet, Bollywood, Argentian Tango and American smooth all thrown into the mix to promise you a wonderful evening of Dance.

There is definitely something for everyone and looking after you this year, your host is once again East Coast Radio’s Damon Beard. Included in the list of celebrities you can look forward to seeing are the fabulous illusionist Ricki Gray and much loved singer Shelley MacLean, as well as Thapelo Ramathlape and Nombulelo Hlathi, SA Champions in the South American Showdance Section.

Shall We Dance began it''s annually sold-out performances back in 1991. This wonderful show is presented by the Playhouse Company in association with the South African Dance Teachers’ Association. It is directed by Neville Letard and Caryl Cusens.

1 Response to Shall We Dance at the Playhouse Opera Theatre

My name is Nava Naidoo, my husband and I have been regular fans of your show for the last 10 years, we are passionate social dancers, but having been learning our dancing
with Professional tutors. We thoroughly enjoyed the show this year, after last years disappointing show, Shall we Dance has got its act together and have given us a brilliant
show this year. Thanks a million. We just have one complaint this year, we were not happy with the compere, Damon Beard. He has absolutely no charisma for this show, he may be a OK DJ, but he does nothing for the show. In fact whenever he comes on stage, I get the feeling he cannot wait to get off stage as quickly as possible. Please get someone like Ian Memerty, an entertainer with dance, song and maybe a little comedy in them. You have had compere''s like that in the past. Maybe a compere who opens up the show with a song. I hope that sounds like constructive criticism. We love Shall we dance and will not miss it for the world.
