I visited our South Coast members this week and Dave at Coral Tree Colony recommended ‘La Trat’. Knowing him to be a renowned ex-restauranteur I trust his advice wholeheartedly.
The menu has a good range of starters, pastas, fish, grill and dessert items, without being too overwhelming. And a fantastic wine menu.
Having spent the last few days along this gorgeous coastline with calm seas constantly in view, fresh seafood was the obvious choice. But I had a hard time choosing between the Spaghettini Prawns and Seared Tuna. My craving for fresh fish and sushi finally won over, the lightly seared tuna arriving still pink on the inside, drizzled with finely diced red and yellow peppers and light wasabi dressing. Accompanied by your choice of skinny fries, creamy mash, seasonal veg, all beautifully presented.
And at ‘La Trat’ you can savour the view as well as the food! Known as the restaurant on the river, you can also dine out on the terrace over the lagoon.
