I visited Judah Square myself earlier this year and stayed overnight in the small community - and it was a unique experience that I would love to return one day.

Judah Square is the home of the Knysna Rastas, established in 1993 in the Nekkies location on the outskirts of Knysna. From its early beginnings in Nekkies to the present day in Judah Square it is a ''safe haven'' for Rastas in South Africa.
The people I met there all told me the best time to visit is the Earth Day Festival (sadly not going to make it this year) as it''s a really wonderful atmosphere.
The Rasta Earth Festival website says:
"Judah square is the administrative Rasta capital of the southern cape and once a year they arrange a festival that draws in Rastas from South Africa and abroad - The "Rasta Earth Festival".
Currently rated 300 out of the worlds best festivals The Rasta Earth Festival showcases the Rastafarian way of life, the music, the food and the philosophy behind this sometimes mis-understood faith.
The I-in-I of Judah Square welcome visitors with open arms and open hearts."
