Penwarn lies in a beautiful valley traversed by 2 rivers, bordering the Ukuhlamba World Heritage Site. A variety of game including zebra, wildebeest and other antelope roam free across the hillsides and plains.

Together with his wife Barbara, Peter Dommett is also dedicated to promoting the use of working horses on their farm, and breeds and trains them for other farmers.
The horse enterprise consists of breeding herds of Shire, Clydesdales, Percherons, Shire cross Thoroughbreds, American Quarter horses, Arabian horses, Paint horses and our own herds of dun coloured horses and ponies.

Their farming operations encompass a diverse range of activities, all conducted in a responsible and sustainable manner, working in harmony with the gifts that nature provides in abundance - horses, organic cultivation, dairy cows, other farmyard creatures, wildlife on the land and in the waters. And they love sharing it all with guests staying at the lodges.
