Molteno Madness - A Swim in the Snow for SA Band

On the 26th of July on the drive back from a week of shows in Cape Town Southern Gypsey Queen stopped over in their hometown Molteno to jump in a swimming pool surrounded by snow.

"The band got wind of snowfall heading that way and decided it would be a perfect opportunity to create some awareness for close friend and world renowned artist Eric Oswald Eatwell, who with the help of A Better World Foundation has been feeding and clothing the poor in Molteno for over ten years.

Five years ago SGQ wrote the song "Be the lion" which was inspired by Steve Biko and how his words and actions live through individuals like Eric. Eric doesnt work on a handout basis, together he and his team seek out families and individuals who simply cannot provide for themselves.

Along with feeding these people he also helps them find ways of earning incomes and eventually providing for themselves which in turn restores a feeling of selfworth and dignity to these families. We are pleased to say that there are now many families who no longer get fed by Eric and are completely self sufficient, once this happens he can take on new families and start the process all over. Neither Eric nor A Better World Foundation have ever taken a cent for this and end up funding most of it from their own pockets.

Imagine how many more peoples lives can be changed with your support, this initiative may not be ending world hunger at this stage but it has changed hundreds of families lives in our hometown and inspired us to do more than just rock n roll.
