We have featured Porter Estate Market more than once here on the Portfolio Travel Blog and that''s because it''s such a wonderful place to be. The setting is gorgeous - a pine tree scented clearing below a mountain - and even on the days the South Easter blows the market is sheltered.

Get there early and enjoy a hearty and healthy breakfast from one of the stands, then head for the craft and produce section and get shopping. Everything from silver handcrafted jewellry and colourful hula hoops to wicker baskets and handpainted clothes, plus and an array of delicious deli foods, will entice you to support the stall holders. There is a sandplay area for kids with a wonderful new wooden castle for tiny ones to explore, and dogs are welcome.
