Father''s Day 2014 at De Hoop
This year, Father’s Day occurs on a long weekend, so it’s a perfect opportunity to make special memories in the magnificent setting of the De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Overberg.

De Hoop invites you to either book for the whole weekend or come out and spend Father’s Day with them:

"We’ve cooked up a real treat for Dad: it’s Potjie competition time!  You’ll need a team of 4-6 (ask your friends to join you if you’re a small family) - bring your own special ingredients and De Hoop will provide the salads and desserts.

The Potjie competition sponsored by the wine route- each team gets 6 bottles of wine from the local winery and has to make a delicious potjie to complement the wine.  Moms can either help or nip off to the Spa for a pampering session. The competition will be judged by the local winemakers and your Dad could be the winner of the floating trophy!

If you opt to enjoy the whole long weekend at De Hoop, you won’t be disappointed as there are plenty of activities available. There are Guided Bird and Fynbos Walks, apart from the guided Mountain Bike Trail which will give more energetic family members a chance of cycling amongst game and Fynbos. The Interpretive Marine Walk takes you on a journey of exploration: the coastal rock pools and sandy beaches are teeming with intriguing plants and sea creatures and our qualified guide will answer all your questions. Whale sightings are almost guaranteed at this time of year.

About the De Hoop Collection

The De Hoop Collection opened in the De Hoop Nature Reserve in 2008 under the creative and entrepreneurial hands of Carl Trieloff and William Stephens, who worked closely with Cape Nature to offer guests a unique experience of unparalleled peace and tranquillity in a spectacular and unspoiled setting, which is scrupulously conserved by Cape Nature.
