Design Indaba - Vote for your Dreams

The Design Indaba, one of Cape Town''s iconic exhibitions, runs from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 February at the CTICC. Design Indaba Expo is a 100% local-is-lekker celebration of South Africa’s ingrained creativity. Advertising, architecture, craft, décor, film, fashion, graphic design, interior design, jewellery, new media, publishing, product design and visual media, are all presented shoulder-to-shoulder - www.designindaba.com

 

The Dreams for Africa Chair has been nominated to take part in the MOST BEAUTIFUL OBJECT IN SOUTH AFRICA competition taking place at the Design Indaba in Cape Town (closing date 27th of February).

In 2009, some 160 women from the Valley of a 1000 Hills where inspired to create a ''Chair of Hope'' to raise funds for the Woza Moya Craft Centre. Assisted by the Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust (www.hillaids.org.za). The Chair was completed in 8 weeks and Hillcrest Aids PR,  Claudia Krumhoff, said:

"We are so honoured to be selected and feel it is such a triumph as we started this project with a  dream and zero funding to help improve the lives of those infected/affected by HIV/AIDS.
