The Ficksburg Cherry Festival will run from Thursday 20th November to Sunday 23rd November 2014.

The very popular Cherry Bowls Tournament for 2014 is scheduled for 18.19.20 November.
Teams of four may be entered. Entry fee is R1900.00 per team and includes a light breakfast, morning tea, lunch and dinner.

So, although the area and surrounding area seem fully booked from Thursday, accommodation is still available from the Tuesday, and of course most of the festival activities start on the Tuesday…SO
If you simply cannot find even the smallest loft still left unbooked, come Tuesday, Wednesday out Thursday and enjoy pretty much all there is to offer.
Cherry picking starts end October, so the weeks leading up to Festival are also a good time to visit. The Cherry-Wine Cellar up the road is available all week and week-ends, ripe luscious cherries can be bought.
Venues with Cherry products and all interesting “goodies” can be visited, depending on weather, fresh asparagus should be available, organic venue to be visited and the most divine cheese purchased.

Amohela is a 310ha Retreat, nestled in a stunning valley between Ficksburg and Clocolan. The self catering cottages have open fires, comfy couches, well equipped kitchens, and magnificent views.
The cottages are already booked out for the Cherry Fetsival dates but do have accommodation available on other dates during cherry picking season.
