Melozhori Private Game Reserve

One of the most exclusive reserves in the Western Cape, Melozhori Private Game Reserve lies along an old wagon-trading route between the Overberg and Cape Town. The rugged, mountainous terrain forms part of the Cape Fold range near the hamlet of Stormsvlei, less than 200 kilometres from Cape Town and conveniently placed on the way to the Garden Route. Wildlife moves through this quiet landscape, including zebra, giraffe, eland, kudu, red hartebeest, bontebok, sable antelope, waterbuck, bushbuck, black-backed jackal and the wide-eyed bat-eared fox. Bird species such as the blue crane, black harrier and Cape vulture are regularly recorded. Activities include guided game drives, hiking routes and mountain-bike trails that follow the contours of the slopes.
