Welcome to Kleinbaai
Set on the Danger Point Peninsula six kilometres from Gansbaai in the stunning Western Cape province, Kleinbaai is a small but charming town boasting several drawcards. This area is known as one of the best whale-watching locations in the world, with a large number of the gentle giants frolicking in its waters between June and December and several ideally-positioned lookout points. One of the most famous of these is the Danger Point Lighthouse, filled with fascinating shipwreck artefacts and reached by taking an alluring six-kilometre trail passing some pretty rockpools. The town’s delightful local tidal pool offers a safe and idyllic spot for families to enjoy the water. Nature enthusiasts will discover milkwood trees, wildflowers and a variety of sweet-smelling heather. The ‘Shark Alley’ between Kleinbaai and Dyer Island is filled with seals and visited by great white sharks.
