Hondeklip Bay

Situated roughly 95 kilometres south-west of Springbok in the stunning Namakwa district of the Northern Cape, Hondeklip Bay is a pretty, quiet coastal town with wonderfully idyllic beaches. Fourteen kilometres of breathtaking shoreline offer perfect spots for swimming and are dotted with gorgeous tidal pools teeming with marine life. Other outdoor activities on offer include cray-fishing, scenic 4x4 drives and magnificent hiking routes. The array of birdlife and unusual rock formations such as the ‘Dog Stone’ and ‘Spitfire Rock’ provide excellent photographic opportunities. History enthusiasts can discover the stories surrounding diamond digging, shipwrecks and fishing legends. The surrounding Namakwaland region is famous for its extraordinary annual bloom of flowers, celebrated by the ‘Flower Show’ which draws visitors from all over the world.
