Makhanda

Makhanda, also known as Grahamstown, is located roughly 110 kilometres northeast of Port Elizabeth, in South Africa's Eastern Cape province. Best known for its popular annual Arts Festival which takes place every June, Grahamstown also offers plenty to interest and entice tourists at other times of the year. The town is steeped in history it is nicknamed the 'City of Saints' for its numerous beautiful churches, and is home to several fascinating museums as well a renowned historic university.
