Sèche Island

Welcome to Sèche Island

A mere 1.5 kilometres off the eastern coast of Sainte Anne Island and 7.5 kilometres from Mahe, Séche Island emerges from the crystalline waters near Praslin Island. This diminutive, rocky outcrop, strewn with boulders and devoid of human habitation, serves as a sanctuary for nesting sea-gulls. Clad in sparse vegetation, mainly low-growing trees atop its granite formation, this island is also referred to as Beacon Island. A short 2.15 kilometres southward lie the Harrison Rocks, sharing the same granite origins. Despite its modest dimensions and lack of modern conveniences, Séche Island beckons to those in search of seclusion.
