Piton de la Fournaise

Located within Reunion National Park, the Piton de la Fournaise is a magnificent basaltic shield volcano. The Piton de la Fournaise, meaning ‘peak of the furnace’, is currently one of the most active oceanic volcanoes in the world, with over 100 eruptions in the last 300 years. This volcano possesses an otherworldly charm, from the lapping waves and lush forested foothills at its base to its soaring moonscape crown.
