Rosh Pinah

Situated in southern Namibia, near the South African border, the small mining town of Rosh Pinah is known for its stunning natural beauty, its prolific minerals (including zinc, copper, tin, lead, silver and gemstones), and its striking and fascinating geological formations. Positioned between the Richtersveld Transfrontier Park in the east and the Sperrgebiet National Park in the west, the town bridges two astounding and contrasting geological areas and offers a wonderland of breathtaking landscapes to explore. Attractions include the historic Roter Kamm Meteorite Crater; enormous dunes perfect for sandboarding and 4x4 trekking; and the dazzling collections of brightly coloured gems on display at the Rosh Pinah Geo Center, which include examples from all over the country.
