Banhine National Park

Located in the heart of Mozambique’s Gaza Province, Banhine National Park is a remote and expansive wilderness where seasonal lagoons, salt pans, and grassy plains stretch to the horizon. Its atmosphere is one of quiet solitude, punctuated by the calls of waterbirds and the distant rustle of wildlife through the tall reeds. Visitors can track zebra, antelope, and a variety of migratory birds, or explore the park by 4x4 and guided walking safaris that reveal hidden waterways and ephemeral wetlands. The air carries the earthy scent of sunbaked soil and reeds, while wide-open skies glow with dramatic sunsets. While infrastructure is minimal, and access can be challenging, the reward is an unspoilt, immersive safari experience far from the crowds.
